AN ASPIRIN A DAY (September 30, 2019)

An aspirin a day is supposed to keep the doctor away. If I remember correctly, I got into the habit of taking it more than three decades ago. I was still in the States at the time. Aspirin thins the blood and thereby helps prevent strokes, which threaten people in their fifties and sixties. But it is advisable to stop taking it in the seventies because it may lead to internal bleeding. Which is why I have just stopped taking it. And I cannot but wonder whether or not I will miss it in the years to come. An aspirin a day also keeps worries away…
