POOR TILOPA (July 23, 2019)
My “Ten Principles of Retirement” (January 10, 2018) appeal to few on the World Wide Web. I pity the great sage to whom they are dedicated, though. Poor Tilopa.
Addendum (November 30, 2023)
Sadly, this haiku needs a few more words of explanation. To the best of my understanding, it is neither my ten principles concerning retirement nor Tilopa’s words of wisdom that are in question as such. Actually, the modest appeal boils down to clandestine censorship of the World Wide Web (“On Clandestine Censorship,” June 5, 2023). Why and how it is administered will most likely remain beyond my ken till my last breath, but it is as sure as hell. Quite a few of my writings are subject to censorship, and it is anyone’s guess who is behind it and why. One way or another, Tilopa will forever be close to my heart, though (“In Praise of Tilopa’s Six Words of Advice,” November 2, 2016). To wit, do not recall, do not imagine, do not think, do not examine, do not control, rest… One more time, Tilopa beats all the teachers in terms of brevity. I can only hope that my writings will be free from censorship in the fullness of time. No matter who is behind it and why, it is my hope that Tilopa will eventually win. Three cheers for the teacher of teachers!
