WELCOME, WELCOME! (August 3, 2019)
Wherever I happen to be, there are animals, birds, and insects swarming around me. Here there are cats, lizards, dogs, and snakes. Over there, pigeons, sparrows, crows, doves, and swallows. All around me, there are flies, bees, scarabs, wasps, bumblebees, ladybirds, and mosquitoes. The barking, the hissing, the flapping, the meowing, the buzzing, the humming, and the rustling fill my heart with joy day after day. And there are plants of all descriptions no matter where I go. A whiff of their fragrance is often startling and invigorating. Yes, I feel fortunate to be surrounded by all these sights, sounds, and smells. And all that is required on my part is to let my senses roam free from my mind. Once the blundering mind is barred from meddling with my eyes, ears, and nostrils, nature rushes toward me without fail. Welcome, welcome! Time and again, I am dumbfounded by nature’s open arms.
