YEARNING TO HEAR FROM STRASBOURG (December 18, 2019)

I am not about Christmas gifts, I repeat, but I am yearning for such a gift once again. And I would cherish it, no doubt whatsoever. But there is no word from Strasbourg still (“Not a Word from Strasbourg,” December 20, 2018). How much longer will this yearning last, I wonder? I cannot but hope that it is a matter of days, weeks, or maybe months, but surely not years. For too many years have already passed since my case has been accepted by the vaunted Court of Human Rights (Addendum of July 2, 2015, to “Bon versus Croatia,” April 13, 2015). In less than a fortnight, it will be five years, as well as twelve years since Slobodan Vugrinec, the then mayor of Motovun, has taken me to court for the first time (“Welcome to Motovun!” November 13, 2008). Twelve fucking years, and he has taken me to court no less than three times! Yearning to hear from Strasbourg…
