FURTHER ADVICE TO MY POSTCARD COLLECTORS (October 13, 2000)
My postcards are art objects and can be exhibited as such. However, they can also be stretched, as it were. In Europe, postcards are printed on A6 format card. Four postcards arranged in two rows and two columns produce A4 format, which is used for standard letter paper. Now, if you have a scanner and a color printer attached to your computer, you can print out my postcards on A4 photographic paper. In a simple frame, or even without it, they will look fabulous on your wall. You can give copies to friends, too. If you do not have the equipment, this job can be done for you in a photo shop for about ten pounds per copy. You can have your postcard enlarged still further. The bigger, the better. Your favorite card printed on A3 format photographic paper would cost you about twenty-five pounds. This would be the size of two pieces of letter paper side by side. In a good photo shop, you can easily go all the way up to A0 format, which is the size of sixteen pieces of letter paper arranged in four rows and four columns. This would cost you about hundred-fifty pounds, but it would also cover a good chunk of that wall of yours. And all this is within your reach. Now.
