ITS PRETTY FACE (March 4, 2007)

It is a while before midnight, but I feel like signing off already. Much of the day was glorious, and thus it seems that it was longer than usual. But there is no question of going to bed before seeing the moon from my terrace. It will be full tonight. It will be a while before it shows its pretty face on the western side of the Motovun hill, though. And going to sleep before having a fill of the full moon is simply unconscionable. When I said all this to Jozo Brandić on our way home from Klaudio’s, he was surprised. “Hey,” he chuckled, “you’re a born poet!” I would not go that far, at least not for this reason, but I acquiesced. “Yup,” I sighed, “but the moon is well worth it, too!” Another hour, or maybe less, and I will go to bed sated.
