PLUMMETING (March 18, 2007)
For the last few years, Jozo Brandić has been working on a bunch of houses close to a spring on the steep northern slopes of the Mirna valley. “I have always known of the place,” he says, “but I have never checked it out.” Yesterday he decided to look for the spring, and he found it at once. “It’s a wonderful spot, “he says, “and all kinds of animals come to drink from it.” As soon as he approached the place, he spotted a hawk plummeting from the sky toward him. “When it realized I was a bit too big for it,” he chuckles, “it stopped in mid air.” Disappointed, the hawk floated away. “The spring must be its favorite feeding place,” Jozo explains with a blissful grin. The grin of prey too big.
