SUCH BLISS (March 18, 2007)

A large group of Slovene friends comes to visit me. We used to work together in the late Seventies. It is wonderful to see them all. And in one place. The house is full. There is much to eat. And there is much to drink, too. The weather is on our side, and so we spread to the terrace, where we spend most of the day. There are memories galore. There is much laughter. The day could hardly be jollier. But when it gets dark, my friends get up to leave. It will take them a couple of hours to get back home. As soon as I put the house in order, which takes only a few minutes, I close all the windows and doors. I close all the shutters, too. Cocooned, I experience such bliss that I feel almost embarrassed.
