THE GIANT (February 12, 2007)
I dreamt that I saw an American movie about a Russian military project from the 1930s. As a part of their growing arsenal of secret weapons, the Russians were building a giant that looked like an ordinary man, but an ordinary man would reach up to his ankles. The construction of the giant took a long period of time, and it ended up rather unwieldy for military operations. The Russians therefore leaked some footage of the finished product by cleverly filming an ordinary man. It was shown in cinemas across Russia, too. But the poor man who played the giant spent much of his subsequent life under house arrest, lest the secret of the footage be divulged. When I woke up, I was quite confused about the origin of the movie I saw in my dream. I could not tell whether the Russians actually attempted to build the giant in the 1930s, or whether this was an American ruse to alert the world of the impending Russian peril.
