A day missing from my book is a day forever missing from my life. To soothe my conscience on one such gloomy day, I am reduced to stating the painfully obvious.

How about turning this haiku around, though? A day missing from my book is a day forever added to my life! How about it, indeed? Now that eight fallow days in a row are right ahead of me, I cannot but rejoice at turning everything around. And my writing deserves the old trick, no doubt. The painfully obvious, to be sure.
