“FENG SHUI VILLA IN ANDALUSIA” (September 23, 2014)
Thus The Wall Street Journal today. “Inspired by feng shui, this eight-bedroom villa in San Roque, Spain, opens out into a north and south wing, giving the feeling of living on the deck of a large boat,” elaborates the newspaper. I almost burst into laughter when I came across the article. “Enjoy life while you can,” I almost shouted remembering James Lovelock. Besides, feng shui goes all the way back, where we will be returning shortly. The first examples of orienting buildings by the stars are dated to around 4000 BC. And in China, of all places. To wit, the ancient art harks back to shamanism. Whence my cheer, to be sure. For all its mumbo-jumbo, shamanism is closer to what humans can understand than contemporary science and engineering. Too much for the primate’s brain. Unbeknownst to their designers or owners, the feng shui villa in Andalusia points the way to the past that is the future. The joy!
