BACI & ABBRACCI (September 22, 2014)

As I was walking through the pedestrian area of Zagreb with my umbrella tight in hand, for the rain was accompanied by gusty wind, I spotted a tiny shining object on the wet pavement. Made of brass, it was oval in shape and it had two holes on the sides. I stopped to see it better, but there was nothing written on it. Thus I picked it up and turned it around. “Baci & Abbracci,” I read. Underneath, I read where it came from: “Milano.” Although I realized that this must be the name of a clothing company, I was still delighted by the find. Kisses and hugs, and in Italian. It must have fallen off someone jacket or bag. To save the tiny plate from further trampling, I put it on the low pedestal of a nearby monument. Let it be found again and again. Kisses and hugs should delight as many passersby as possible, I smiled to myself. As soon as I reached home, I googled the company. Indeed, it makes fashionable sports clothing. And in Milan, of all places. Kisses and hugs to you, too.
